Modern Times Group MTG AB comprises six business segments – Free-TV Scandinavia, Pay-TV Nordic, Free-TV Emerging Markets, Pay-TV Emerging Markets, CTC Media and Other Businesses. The first five of these segments is part of Viasat Broadcasting.
Viasat Broadcasting, which consists of Free-TV Scandinavia, Pay-TV Nordic, Free-TV Emerging Markets, Pay-TV Emerging Markets and CTC Media, comprises MTG’s broadcasting business. Viasat broadcasts more than 60 own branded channels in 36 countries. Viasat Broadcasting has the largest broadcasting footprint in Europe.
Radio is part of Other Businesses. MTG is the largest commercial radio operator in the Nordic and Baltic regions. MTG owns the largest commercial radio network in Norway and has an equity stake in the largest commercial radio network in Finland. In Sweden, MTG owns the second largest commercial radio network and also operates rapidly growing radio stations and networks in the Baltic countries. MTG's radio stations reach over three million listeners every week.
Other Businesses also comprises the MTG Studios business which produces a wide range of content through Strix Television and Paprika Latino. Strix has long been a strong player in Northern and Western Europe while Paprika is well established in larger parts of Eastern Europe. Modern African Productions is based in Accra, Ghana and serves the African market.
