Lugna Favoriter, playing calm popular music, is local radio station in Stockholm.
Lugna Favoriter became a local radio station in Stockholm only on 1 July 2010, after it previously had been a network with nine stations. The frequencies were transfered to Bandit Rock.
Lugna Favoriter became part of MTG Radio on 2 January 2002 when the radio stations Lugna Favoriter and Wow 105.5 were acquired from RTL Group.
Lugna Favoriter’s reach grew substantially when MTG, on 5 July 2004, announced it had signed a cooperation agreement with NRJ Group S.A. whereby MTG Radio assumed the day to day management and advertising sales of NRJ’s 20 radio stations in Sweden.
Ten of NRJ’s stations were rebranded as RIX FM stations and seven were rebranded as Lugna Favoriter stations. The remaining three NRJ stations, in Stockholm, Gothenburg and Malmö respectively, retained their NRJ branding. MTG has managed them since.
In August 2005 yet another step in the consolidation of the Swedish commercial radio market took place when MTG commenced cooperation with Norrköpings Radio & Co AB. The cooperation resulted in RIX FM and Lugna Favoriter adding two Norrköpings Radio & Co AB owned radio stations each in the Swedish county of Östergötland.
