Viasat1 is a broad-based entertainment channel featuring a combination of international movies and series.
Viasat1 was launched in Ghana in West Africa on 12 December 2008 and became Viasat Broadcasting’s first commercial free-to-air entertainment TV channel outside Europe.
Viasat Broadcasting was awarded a five-year national terrestrial TV license by the National Communications Authority of the Republic of Ghana in December 2007. The channel was built up from the ground during 2008, with the development of everything from transmission towers to play-out facilities in the capital Accra.
Viasat1 is broadcast 20 hours a day.
Viasat1 is transmitted free-to-air and received by a regular antenna.
