Nova

Nova, the second most watched TV channel in Bulgaria, has an urban-focused, young, predominantly female audience profile, and broadcasts a broad mix of local content and successful international TV formats.

MTG completed the acquisition of Nova on 16 October 2008. On 31 July 2008 MTG announced it had signed the agreement to acquire 100% of Nova Televizia from the Greek company Antenna Bulgaria.

On 3 March 2009 MTG announced a reorganisation of the ownership of its free-TV assets in Bulgaria.

Following the receipt of approval from the Bulgarian Commission for the Protection of Competition MTG announced on 6 August 2009 that it had completed the reorganisation. The assets within Balkan Media Group had been transferred into the MTG subsidiary Nova Televizia. MTG acquired 50% of Balkan Media Group on 20 March 2007 from Apace Media plc. BMG owned the Diema channels and MM in Bulgaria and the Albanian language channel ERA TV in Macedonia. MTG now owns 95% of the enlarged Nova Televizia group, whilst Apace Media holds a 5% minority interest in the combined entity.

Nova was launched on 22 July 1994.

Nova is broadcast 24 hours a day.

Nova has a national terrestrial free-TV license in Bulgaria, and is also available via cable and satellite TV networks.
