The majority of our staff in Stockholm has relocated to Ringvägen 52 – a state of the art building designed as the embodiment of eco-friendliness.
The building, which has taken about three years to complete, finally opened its doors on 2 November – marking the first official working day in the new office.
Building on the success of MTG Radio, which is widely considered a pioneer in green work, energy consumption in the new office is 28% less than levels required by Sweden’s National Board of Housing. It also hosts four in-house Green Ambassadors who are more than happy to share their knowledge of environmental issues with colleagues.
The new building is 18.000 square meters and has enough space to house 900 people, with 8 of 9 floors being used by MTG Sweden. The other space has been reserved for sister company Metro, which belongs to Our Group. The office was built according to guidelines laid out by the European Union’s GreenBuilding Project. It was also constructed using environmentally friendly building material and has excellent waste handling facilities.
“This move signals our commitment to environmental sustainability, which is of particular interest in Sweden as Stockholm becomes the first European Green Capital in 2010,” says President and CEO Hans-Holger Albrecht.
