Right to Dream tops Viasat1 football tournament

The first trials for MTG United for Peace Cup were organised last weekend in Akrade near Akosombo in the Eastern Region of Ghana, with sponsorship from Viasat1, the free-TV station launched and operated by MTG.

Right to Dream beat FIPACUM FC in the final match in the trials by three goals to nil and will represent Ghana in the MTG United Peace Cup held in Oslo in October to coincide with the announcement of the Nobel Peace Prize Laureates.

“Besides the football tournament, participating kids will be engaged in different educational activities held by the Nobel Peace Centre and Red Cross to raise awareness of the importance of peace and key elements behind the word peace, as tolerance and respect etc. Such activities include participation in School of Tolerance and a Peace Walk,” said  Kwabena Opoku Boakye, marketing manager of Viasat1.

MTG United for Peace are arranging local youth tournaments for children from troubled backgrounds, in the age group 12-14, in Scandinavia, Eastern Europe and Africa. After Ghana, trials will be held in Denmark, Latvia, Estonia, Lithuania, Bulgaria, Slovenia, United Kingdom, Russia and Hungary.
