The long-term conservation work to save the Baltic Sea is starting to show positive results. Cod stocks are recuperating and the EU has developed a new strategy for the whole region. But this does not mean that the Baltic Sea is over the hill. So far we can only see a faint light at the end of the tunnel. If we do not gather our strength we will not be able to save the Baltic Sea for coming generations of fishermen, tourists and all those who enjoy life and nature.
This is the reason why it’s high time to shift up a gear in our effort to save the Baltic Sea
once and for all.
This is why MTG actively supports the work of the World Wide Fund for Nature to save the Baltic Sea. It’s the second year in a row that MTG has cooperated with WWF to run a campaign built on the idea of the Baltic Sea being a nation which needs citizens. As such, MTG Radio in Sweden gives its listeners the chance to become citizens of the Baltic Sea and also calls for its continued conservation.
Amongst the listeners that apply for citizenship of the Baltic Sea there is a lottery to win a Baltic Sea burgee. To apply, visit www.rixfm.com.
After last year’s success, this year’s Save the Baltic Sea campaign is bolder, better and bigger, especially since we are extending it to Estonia and Latvia as well. Follow our campaign between 28 June and 28 August and learn more about what you can do to save the Baltic Sea!
