Peretz, formerly known as DTV but rebranded in October 2011, focuses primarily on 25 to 59 year-old viewers with a core target audience of everyone between 35 and 45.
The key genre for the channel following its rebrand is “reality” in various formats, including live shows and TV series with real people. Peretz also carries programming featuring celebrities, sketch and comedy shows, and live journals dedicated to life in Moscow and the regions.
CTC Media acquired the channel from MTG on 17 April 2008.
DTV was launched in 1999 as Darial TV. MTG acquired 75% of the shares on 9 April 2001 and renamed the channel DTV in 2002. On 20 August 2004 MTG acquired the remaining shares in DTV.
Under MTG’s ownership the channel was developed to become a national free-to-air television network that is distributed through a number of affiliate partner stations and a group of four owned-and-operated stations.
Today Peretz is part of CTC Media, Inc., of which MTG is the largest shareholder with 37.94%.
